Hey Leroy - below, copy/pasted from Allan Attlee's reply - you need to jump on this opportunity - remember - fortune favours the brave!

Sounds very interesting. You'd be more than welcome to send your student down to Canterbury to speak with some of us here. We'd also be happy to feature this work on the school website CANTARCH.COM.
In terms of projects to explore I'd recommend New Babylon by Constant Niewenhuys. It was a radical proposal for a situationist inspired utopian urbanism. What might make it a worthy
study is that it was very vaguely described in drawings and models that suggested atmospheres rather than definite forms so there would be room for interpretation on the part of any cg artist.
There's a great book called Exit Utopia that has pretty good versions of the drawings. Another book would be The Activist Drawing.

Hope this is helpful.

Ps the Canterbury library has a great collection so suggesting to your guy that he come for a browse would be a good move.

(Leroy - you'll need to order these books from the library - not simply rely on the internet etc. Get on it!)

I looked at booking out those books that were recommendded but thought it might be easier to just collect them from there on my visit. If so when would be a good time to go up and speak to him? really thought I posted this Wednesday and thought it odd to have not been notified of a reply but as it stands a huge error on my part.

It's been a week and I haven't had a reply to the comment I posted so thought I would make it into a post here and list you in the title instead. I would very much like to go down and talk to the tutor at Canterbury and was wondering if I could get his e-mail from you to arrange this or if he doesnt want it handed out would it be possible for you to arrange it on my behalf any day that would suit him for me to visit any day aside from a Tuesday would be fine by me. Also appologies to both you and Alan for being in London this week.

  1. Hey Leroy,

The senior lecturer in Architecture is Allan Atlee: his email is aatlee@ucreative.ac.uk

Make contact and sort something out - oh, and speed up! Time is ticking, and this minor project has to be the moment that you become a creative force to be reckoned with - no half measures! :-)
